Ingredients

  • 300g fresh minced pork or pork without rind
  • 1 yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced
  • 1 packet of dumpling wrappers (available at Asian grocery stores)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon fine white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon oyster sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the onion and garlic.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the minced meat, onion, and garlic.
  3. Add salt, sugar, sesame oil, and oyster sauce to the mixture.
  4. Season with a pinch of black pepper.
  5. If the filling is over 1kg, add an egg to bind the mixture.
  6. Place 1 teaspoon of filling in the center of a dumpling wrapper.
  7. Fold two opposite corners to create a triangle shape.
  8. Fold the bottom edges of the triangle towards the center to secure the dumpling and prevent it from opening during cooking.
  9. Fry the dumplings in hot oil at 180°C (350°F) for 2-3 minutes until they are golden brown.
  10. Serve with a sweet and sour sauce for dipping.
